BOTOX® Cosmetic

What is Botox Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a popular FDA-approved treatment for adults who want to enhance their appearance by temporarily reducing the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. The treatment works by relaxing the muscles that cause these facial lines, allowing them to soften and become less noticeable.

The process is quick and simple, taking only about 10 minutes. A healthcare professional will administer the BOTOX® Cosmetic using a fine needle to inject the treatment into specific muscles around the eyes and forehead. The procedure is generally well-tolerated by most patients, and there is minimal downtime required.

You may start to see results within 24-48 hours, with the full effect typically taking up to two weeks to develop. The benefits of BOTOX® Cosmetic can last up to four months for moderate to severe frown lines. However, results will vary depending on the individual and the severity of their facial lines.

It is important to note that BOTOX® Cosmetic is not suitable for everyone and that a consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary to determine if it is an appropriate treatment for you. It is also important to choose a qualified and experienced healthcare professional to administer the treatment to ensure the best possible results.

Will My Face Look Overdone after BOTOX Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment is a subtle and effective way to enhance your natural beauty. With a skilled and licensed medical practitioner, you can trust that your treatment will be done with precision and expertise, leaving you with fewer noticeable lines and a more youthful appearance. Embrace your confidence and let BOTOX® Cosmetic help you look and feel your best.

How long is the recovery time after treatment of BOTOX Cosmetic?

Treatment requires minimal downtime. So you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave your specialist’s office.

Treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic is customized to your goals and needs. When you meet with your specialist, he or she will determine the appropriate treatment for any areas you wish to address, including moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines. Remember, only BOTOX® Cosmetic is approved to treat all three of these areas.

How much time does treatment take? Will it hurt?

The actual injection process takes a quick 10 minutes. Your specialist will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you. Then, some patients report that being injected with BOTOX® Cosmetic feels like a pinch. Your specialist may use ice to numb the treatment area. Or, if you are concerned about discomfort, your specialist may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.

Treatment requires minimal downtime. So you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave your specialist’s office.

Do I need to be over 40 to start using BOTOX® Cosmetic?

It's not your age that determines when BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you, it's the severity of your lines. In fact, 64% of plastic surgeons report seeing a rise in cosmetic surgery or injectable treatments for patients in their early 30’s.

The truth is, everyone's lines form differently. The timing can be influenced by a combination of factors, from cellular changes that may occur over time, to reduction of collagen, to genetic factors, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment.

What is the cost of Botox Cosmetic?

Glitzy's experienced Injector customizes each Botox Cosmetic treatment to suit the patient’s individual needs. The are many factors that play a role in determining how many units each individual will need to achieve their cosmetic goals. During the initial consultation the nurse injector will go over how many units would be needed to achieve the desired look for each individual. At that time the client can decide the price and amount they are comfortable with. It is always possible to add more Botox at follow up appointment.

Types of Facial Wrinkles

There are two types of wrinkles present on the face: dynamic and static.

  • Dynamic wrinkles are present when a person is making facial expressions, such as raising the eyebrows or frowning. These wrinkled occur with repeated contraction of the facial muscle that cause pleating of the skin. Once these muscles are weakened the overlying pleats improve dramatically. Dynamic wrinkles such as as crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead creases are very easily treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic.
  • Static wrinkles are wrinkles are present all the time even when no movement is occurring. Static wrinkles are caused by the effects of gravity and loss of facial volume. The most common static wrinkles encountered are marionette lines and parentheses around the mouth (the nasolabial fold). Because these wrinkles are caused by loss of volume, the best treatment is to add volume to these areas with a filler such as JUVÉDERM®.

Most Common Wrinkles Treated with Botox Cosmetic

The most common wrinkles treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic are the horizontal lines of the forehead, the vertical frown lines in between the eyebrows, and the crow’s feet around the eyes. Other areas treated are the vertical lines around the mouth (lipstick lines) from smoking or drinking from a straw, as well as the horizontal “bunny” lines across the bridge of the nose. BOTOX® Cosmetic can also be used to treat chin dimpling, platysmal bands of the neck, as well enlarged masseter muscles, which cause a larger jaw line in women.

Brotox & Dermal Filler For Men

Eleven Lines Between Eyebrows

Concern: Wrinkles on the forehead, around or between the eyes (11’s)

Treatment: Neuromodulators using Botox Cosmetic

The Low-Down: Botox is a neuromodulators that when injected into facial muscles, blocks the enzyme responsible for moving these muscles, and the temporarily minimizes the appearance of moderate-to-severe wrinkles. Each treatment is customized to keep the face looking less fatigued while maintaining a masculine appearance.

Results: Keep in mind that it takes 7-10 days for the neuromodulator to fully kick-in. Most people begin to notice a softening of the wrinkles in as little as two days.

Note: If you’re worried about looking “frozen,” don’t. In the hands of our skilled Nurse Injector you’ll have a refreshed, rested look without the expression lines but that doesn’t mean you won’t have any facial movement.

Tired Eyes and Dark Circles

Treatment: Dermal Fillers

The Low-Down: We hear a lot of guys complain about looking tired even after a full night’s rest. That’s hardly surprising. As men age, they tend to lose volume in their tear-troughs (under-eyes). Restoring volume can be achieved using filing agents, to soften the appearance of work-related stress.

Results: The bonus in using dermal fillers is that the results are instant and can last 6-12 months!

Note: Don’t worry, our expert injector won’t make you look feminine, just rested and ready to face the board room!

You may, however, experience mild swelling after the treatment and there is always a risk for minor bruising. Be sure to speak with one of our filler experts about the do’s and dont's before your treatment to reduce the likeliness of bruising or swelling.

Laugh Lines

Concern: Lines on either side of your mouth

Treatment: Dermal fillers

The Low-Down: These pesky folds develop around the mouth as a result of a loss of collagen over time. Our expert Nurse Injector will add support to these folds in order to soften their appearance while maintaining a masculine appearance.

Results: Similarly to tear-trough fillers, the results are instant! There is little to now downtime and you can resume all normal activities immediately.

Note: Be sure to avoid alcohol a day or two before and stop aspirin (unless prescribed by your doctor) advil, motrin and aleve one week prior.

Hyperhidrosis, otherwise known as “Excess Sweating”

Treatment: Botox

The Low-down: Many man (and women) have turned to Botox to help treat embarrassing excess sweating. Botox not only treats wrinkles but they also temporarily stop hyperhidrosis.

Here’s how it works. The neuromodulator is injected into the skin to safely block the nerve responsible for triggering the sweat glands.

Results: The treatment can last 3-5 months and begins to work 1-2 weeks after the treatment is performed. There is no downtime and you can resume all normal activities after the treatment.

Note: While the underarms are the most popular area injected, many men also choose to treat their scalp, palms and feet, keeping you looking cool as a cucumber.
