Who is a Good Candidate for Weight Loss Injections?
Currently these injections are approved for adults with a BMI (body mass index) greater than or equal to 30mg/kg2 alone or 27mg/kg2.
What Can I Expect with my Weight Loss Treatment?
Once Weekly subcutaneous injection that is prescribed by a medical provider to facilitate weight loss. It typically takes about two weeks for semaglutide or tirzepatide to start working in the body. While taking semaglutide or tirzepatide, some people begin to see results within the first eight weeks, but most begin to see results within 12 weeks.
Semaglutide VS Tirzepatide
SEMAGLUTIDE: This medication is also known as Ozempic or Wegovy, is a GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonist that supports glucose metabolism by helping the pancreas release an optimal amount of insulin produced by the gut.
TIRZEPATIDE: Studies have found that Tirzepatide has resulted in greater weight loss than Semaglutide. Tirzepatide, works by targeting 2 receptors — the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor, to stimulate body weight reduction in patients unlike Semaglutide that only targets one.
IS IT SAFE?
Glitzy’s trained clinical staff will thoroughly go over medical history and any lifestyle contradictions before treatment. Semagultide & Tirzepatide compounds at Glitzy are not prescribed for anyone who is:
- Pregnant or Nursing
- Patients with Diabetes
- Patients who suffer from gastrointestinal issues such as celiac or crohn’s disease.
- Patients whose BMI falls lower than recommended by FDA
- Patients with personal or family history of thyroid cancer
- Patients with personal or family history of multiple endocrine cancer
- Patients with personal or family history of pancreatic cancer
- Patients with history of pancreatitis

Glitzy offers a free consultation and intake before scheduling you with our Nurse Practitioner. This brief 15-30 min appointment we will go over health history to verify there are no glaring contradictions for treatment. The telehealth appointment with the Nurse Practitioner will include a consultation, answer any questions you may have and determine eligibility. There is no guarantee of treatment upon scheduling either appointment. Our Nurse Practitioner will closely monitor your monthly progress and adjust dosing accordingly. Hi there! I'm Jeannie, and I've been a practicing board-certified family nurse practitioner for the past 9 years. I have cared for patients in primary, acute and inpatient settings, providing wellness visits, annual physicals, women’s and men’s health and weight loss management.
I received my bachelor's degree in nursing from the California State University Chico School of Nursing, and completed my masters of nursing at Sonoma State University where I graduated with honors, Sigma Theta Tau.
I am passionate about education and prevention. I want to help you take control of your life. Together we can make changes as partners in your health.
